Hello Everyone
At the close of another year, I gratefully pause to wish you a warm and happy Holiday Season.
We have had yet another busy year with 1487 home education registrations and 100 5-year-olds entering into their home education journey. I thank all our home educating families for their support and look forward to working with you in the new year as you continue to deliver an enriched and diverse learning program to your child/ren. Your hard work, dedication and sense of community is to be commended.
I would like to congratulate our 2023 Home Education Graduates who will complete their home education registration at the end of 2023 as they are now, or nearly 18 years old. There are 18 Graduates who have attained their Statement of Year 12 Completion Certificate issued by the Education Registrar. On behalf of our Registration Officers who have been part of your home education journey, I wish you all the very best for your future as you move into the next chapter of your life.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to THEAC for their advice and counsel during the year. It is so important to have the voices of home educators reflected in our decision making around home education and I really appreciate the time they give to doing that. Thank you, Denise Cox (Chair), Andrea Ferguson (Deputy Chair), Bill Linton, Fiona Lohrbaecher, Martin Hamilton, Christine Buist and the outgoing Member, Caroline Norman. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Caroline for her valuable contribution to the Board and wish her well in her future endeavours.
I hope you are able to take some time to spend with loved ones this festive season while enjoying a restful and cheer-filled break.
Warm Regards
Jo Spencer
