Please find below information provided to us from the Australian Government in relation to the NAPLAN program:
In 2008, the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) commenced in Australian schools. The program continues in 2025 with all children in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 or ages appropriate to these years (see Table 1) being assessed using common national tests in Reading, Writing, Language Conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and Numeracy. NAPLAN 2025 assessments will be online with the exception or year 3 writing which is paper based.
These literacy and numeracy tests form a key part of the National Assessment Program endorsed by all Australian Ministers for Education.
Parent reports on student progress (issued in Mid-June and distributed to parents through the Office of the Education Registrar) will give valuable information on your child’s/children’s performance in the areas tested.
A NAPLAN Online information session will be held in March 2025 and practice tests for students to be held on Monday 17/03/2025.
The NAPLAN Online test session will commence on Tuesday 18/03/2025, concluding on Friday 21/03/2025. The year 3 writing test will be on Tuesday 18/03/2025.
